“I am a woman in process. I’m just trying like everybody else. I try to take every conflict, every experience, and learn from it. Life is never dull.” -Oprah Winfrey

Let’s face it. When you’re known worldwide simply by your first name, it’s safe to say you’ve accomplished a thing or two. Oprah Winfrey is one of those people and rightfully so.

The Mississippi native overcame poverty and seemingly insurmountable odds to revolutionize the tabloid talk show genre and become the most influential woman of our time.  Called the “Queen of All Media”, Oprah is followed, studied, and imitated. Her success has granted her ranking as the richest African-American of the 20th century, the greatest black philanthropist in American history, and is currently North America’s only black billionaire.

But one label you can’t put on Oprah is “married”. She’s living every aspect of her life on her own terms, making no apologies for saying “no” to marriage. Although she’s been in a committed relationship with long-beau Stedman Graham, Oprah has spoken many times about why she’s chosen not to marry.

In an interview with Essence magazine, she said of Stedman Graham, “The truth of the matter is, had we gotten married we wouldn’t be together now, because in no way is this a traditional relationship.”

Aside from her “media mogul” accomplishments, Oprah Winfrey inspires women, and many men, to recognize those “Aha” moments, seize the day and live their best lives. In the eyes of many, she personifies strength, determination and selflessness.

Hats off to Oprah, Single and living fabulous!
