This summer is about to sizzle with some of TV’s hottest shows and stars. This list lets you know exactly which characters are Single and living life to the fullest on the small screen.  There are diverse depictions of what Single life looks like on television this summer. We have moms, cougars, prisoners, mistresses and doctors representing for the SLF demographic.


Jamie Pressly as Jennifer Doyle on “Jennifer Falls”
TV Land, 10:30 pm ET
The title alludes to the life of single mom Jennifer Doyle as she falls from grace and moves back home with her mother. Can you imagine? The horror.  Doyle has somewhat of a temper and is learning to live life more simple after losing everything, including her very successful job as an investment banker. She is working in her brother’s bar as a cocktail waitress. Just her luck that her family is there when she needs them most as she forward with her life.


Lela Loren as Angela Valdes on “Power”
Starz, Saturdays at 9pm ET
Angela is a career woman who grew up on the rough side of town with lover and friend Ghost, played by Mr. Heartthrob himself Omari Hardwick. Years later after moving away, Angela bumps into her old friend Ghost aka Jamie at his nightclub. Turns out he is living a double life as a drug distributor to some and a successful businessman and husband to others.

The show follows the lives of women in a New York prison with various background stories. Just about everyone on the show is Single as they survive their sentences, with a few occasional slip ups. You can catch all their wild and vivid stories streaming on Netflix. Feel free to binge watch if you like.

Rochelle Aytes as April Malloy on “Mistresses”
ABC ,Mondays 10 pm ET
When the show picks up, April is  three years into being a grieving widow after the death of her husband Paul. However, she is not letting that halt her ambition. While raising a ten-year-old daughter, she opens up a business with the money from Paul’s insurance. She is trying to move forward with her life but, her late husband’s secret might set everything on a different course.


Lauren Holly as Dr. Betty Rogers on “Motive”
ABC , Wednesdays 10 pm ET
Dr. Betty is a  medical examiner who is a veteran in the medical field. According to ABC.com, Rogers is “a cougar who’s convinced that her best years lie in front of her.”  Work with the dead, play with the young. Sounds like a plan. 


Daniella Alonso as Dr. Landry de la Cruz “The Night Shift”
NBC , Tuesdays 10 pm ET (Last episode was July, 15th, but the season is available online.)
She is a psychiatrist working hard during the night shift at San Antonio Memorial Hospital. Battling patients with a wide variety of issues such as drug abuse, hysteria and shock doesn’t get in the way of her casual romance with TC Callahan, played by Eoin Macken.


 Kathleen Robertson as Det. Hildy Mulligan on “Murder in the First”
TNT, Mondays 10 pm ET
Hildy works alongside Terry English, played by Taye Diggs, as a homicide detective in San Francisco attempting to solve what they believe are two distinct murder cases.  There is slight attraction between the detectives, but like always, the timing isn’t right and professionalism comes first. Two factors that can really throw off a groove. 

Nicole Napolitano of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey”
Bravo, Sundays 8 pm ET
Nicole is the one-half of the new twin duo on the show this season. The single mom of two and her sister Teresa are pretty much inseparable. They do everything together. A failed marriage didn’t stop this ambitious and hardworking fashionista. After the divorce, she started her new career as a private aviation specialist working with high-profile clients.

Gina Torres as Jessica Pearson on “Suits”
USA Network, Wednesdays 9 pm ET
Jessica would be the wrong person to buck against. At her law firm she is a no nonsense attorney and always comes out on top, even after losing a case.  After the death of her ex-husband, she is now back on the dating scene with a special someone capturing her attention. However, she is having trouble keeping personal and professional business separate.

Sarah Rafferty as Donna Paulsen on “Suits”
USA Network, Wednesdays 9 pm EST
As an executive assistant, Donna is quick on her feet and one of the firm’s sharpest employees. Because she knows so much about the inner workings of the firm, her fellow colleagues have a love/hate relationship with her because she is not afraid to use what she knows.
Meghan Markie as Rachel Zane on “Suits”
USA Network, Wednesdays 9 pm ET
Rachel has humble beginnings and is just starting out in the field of law. For years she was held back from her dreams of being a lawyer because of her not so good LSAT test score. With the willingness to try again and the encouragement from her lover Mike, she aced the test and is now working part-time at Pearson Specter while attending law school. However, things turn sour and she is stuck choosing between love and her career.

Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander as “Rizzoli and Isles”
Tuesdays 9 pm ET
Detective Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) and Dr. Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander) are total opposites. However, they make quite the dynamic duo solving crimes and busting down some of the most notorious bad guys in Boston. There is bit of a twist when Maura finds out some interesting facts about her family.
