Many of you are trying to lose those last few pounds before the Summer starts. After losing weight rather quickly in the beginning on your weight loss journey, it seems that you can’t lose the last 5-10 pounds. At this time of year we get a lot of new clients at my Pace For Success studios looking for quick results in a short time frame. Here are my tips to bust that plateau wide open!
Switch It Up!– Change your workout regimen and challenge yourself with a new type of workout. Add activities like kickboxing, running, pole dancing, HIIT classes, Bootcamp, etc. Adding a new element to your workout will help melt the unwanted pounds.
Eat Up!– Make sure that you are taking in enough calories. Eat 5 to 6 small meals a day and make sure it’s well balanced meals. Cutting back too few calories can make your body store fat as it goes into starvation mode. Check out this calorific calculator (http://www.active.com/fitness/calculators/calories) and plug in your goal weight to see how many calories you should be taking. You don’t have to be a slave to counting calories but get an idea of how many calories you should be in taking an how.
Water and Greens!–Drink your 8 glasses of water or more and make green leafy veggies a part of that well balanced diet.
Get Your Rest!– Make sure to get enough rest as that’s an important part of weight loss. Also rest days, with no workout, are as important as work out days.
See The Big Picture!– Go for the overall goal of making healthy choices. Try not to constantly aim for short term goals that leave you feeling defeated. Aim for long term goals and celebrate every victory as this will make you feel empowered!
